Living the Dream on Purpose

It is popular in the coaching industry to talk to clients about becoming more intentional. I smile when I hear this word remembering the adage: “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” Living the dream on purpose is more than that. It’s more now, more real, more doing and not just thinking about it.

How can you know that you are living the dream? The answer lies in your past, future, and present. From the past, we learn what has motivated us, sparked us, ignited us. The future gives us a vision for when life will be exciting. The hard one is the present. While we are actively living the dream, the significance is often missed on the busy-ness of the moment. Taking time every day (every moment) to reflect on the fun you are having is essential to knowing that you are living the dream – now.

Looking into yourself is the key to unlocking your full potential. The Creator put a purpose inside you. It’s not just about having a dream, it is living the dream. Going from ideation to implementation. His intentions become your intentions.

Obstacles are a BUT. “I would be able to live my dream, BUT this or that is in my way.” Challenges are best handled with an AND. “I will get this challenge behind me, AND that will empower me enjoy my dream living.”

It is easier to bear bad things when you know that things are going according to the master plan. More exactly: according to the Master’s plan. When we know that what we are doing and how we are doing it are in tune with plan created by the Creator, the hiccups, the hazards and the hard times become easier to handle. When you are living for a purpose, the bumps, breaks and scrapes make more sense.

How can your dream become your purpose?
